BEHIND THE SCENES

We do everything except the cooking.

From the cart to the recipe to the leftovers in your fridge, we handle the parts that turn cooking into a chore.

We handle the cart.

Every week, we check prices across Instacart, Walmart, Kroger, Whole Foods, DoorDash, and a handful of others. You get the cheapest option — automatically. If something's out of stock at your store, we swap it and update the recipe so the flavor still lands.

We rebuilt the recipe.

Calibrated for an electric stove and a basic skillet — cast iron is an upgrade, not a requirement. Every step ends with what to look for: color, smell, texture, not just a timer. Short videos for the tricky parts. Real pacing — no instruction tells you to do three things in two minutes.

Tested on a college apartment stove, not in a studio.

Your fridge picks next week.

We know how long every ingredient lasts after opening — down to the day. Next week's bundle is built around what's still good in your fridge. The half-carton of eggs becomes Tuesday's frittata. The opened gochujang shows up in Wednesday's stir-fry.

WHAT'S IN THE PACKET

Your $4 packet replaces $14 in jars.

Most recipes lean on a $4 can of enchilada sauce or a $7 jar of curry paste. Your Gather packet has the spices those products are trying to imitate — fresh-ground, pre-portioned, and a fraction of the cost.

What's actually in the packet

Your Smoky Enchilada packet

Ancho chile, guajillo chile, Mexican oregano, cumin, tomato powder, salt. Ground last month.

A jar of enchilada sauce

Water, tomato puree, modified corn starch, soybean oil, dehydrated onion, garlic powder, paprika, salt, citric acid, “spices,” “natural flavor.” On the shelf since 2024.

The packet runs $4. The jar runs $4–6 and lasts one recipe before sitting in your fridge for three months.

Fresh-ground beats warehouse-shelf.

Canned sauces and jarred pastes are mostly water, starch, and stabilizers. The flavor comes from a small amount of spice that's been sitting in a manufacturing facility for over a year. We skip the can and ship you the spice.
